DICE
Mobile-first ticketing platform with a no-resale design and an in-app discovery feed, widely used by clubs and independent venues; supports ticketing self-promoted shows. Its fan-paid booking fee is, per DICE's own help pages, split between DICE and the event organiser.
- Best for
- Ticketing credible club shows with built-in discovery. Artist-promoters and live teams that prioritize concert discovery, mobile ticketing, anti-scalping controls, real-time sales data, and filling returned tickets through a face-value waitlist.
- Skip if
- You self-promote small shows—Eventbrite is faster. Or, you need low per-ticket fees, white-label checkout, printable tickets, Apple Wallet support, unrestricted transfers, or complete control over fan data and branding. It is also unnecessary when the venue or promoter already controls ticketing.
- First move
- Ask your venue or promoter if they use DICE. For a self-promoted show, create a Make It On DICE account and model the fees before going on sale. Confirm ticket tiers, capacity, payout schedule, refund rules, transfer settings, marketing opt-ins, and door-scanning procedures.
- Watch out
- The fan-paid booking fee is 'split between DICE and the event organiser' — artists report never seeing that split (one 2024 breakdown: $25 ticket charged at $31.16). Agree upfront in the deal who keeps the fee.
