Sessionwire
Remote-collaboration software connecting two DAWs with talkback, video and high-quality audio for co-production sessions; sold as freemium subscriptions with a permanent free tier, replacing its earlier session-pack model.
- Best for
- Full virtual studio sessions with talkback and video. Producers, mix engineers, songwriters and educators who want one virtual room for live DAW playback, talkback, video, file exchange and attended client sessions.
- Skip if
- Audiomovers plus a video call already suffices. You need failure-intolerant reliability for paid sessions, want musicians to perform together with imperceptible latency, rely on Safari or Firefox, or already have a stable Audiomovers-and-video-call workflow covering the same job.
- First move
- Trial one remote co-production session with a regular collaborator. Start the 14-day Studio trial, place the Send and Receive plugins in a test DAW session, invite a regular collaborator by browser link, and rehearse the exact Ethernet and audio-interface routing before involving a client.
- Watch out
- The free plan can join Studios but cannot host one. Hosts need Chrome, Brave or Edge; Safari and Firefox are unsupported. Ethernet is strongly recommended, and Apollo, Pro Tools HDX and StudioLive setups may require extra routing. Studio’s built-in recording captures video and voice, so record musical takes through the DAW. Recent stability complaints make a client-session preflight essential.
